VANCOUVER, Canada — A new feature unveiled by Clarius Mobile Health provides real-time, live ultrasound assistance to providers while performing an exam by allowing them to connect to anyone around the world with an email address or phone number.
The feature was unveiled at the annual American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine (AIUM), where it was demonstrated as fully integrated into the current version of the app with a single tap that prompts the user to enter an email or phone number for a live connection.
“There is so much excitement behind this feature because it opens up many opportunities for remote education and rural medicine, facilitating collaboration between colleagues thousands of miles apart,” Dave Willis, Clarius Mobile Health co-founder and chief strategic officer, said.
When a live connection is initiated, the receiver will open a secure link via email or text message, which provides two-way audio communication and visual touch display directly on the live ultrasound image. No additional equipment is required by the receiver.
All Clarius Live iOS users are eligible for up to 60 minutes each month for live ultrasound connections.
