ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis Fire Department ambulance was nearly caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting on Saturday afternoon.
Officials say shots were fired from an SUV at a pickup truck as the ambulance, with firefighters inside, sat at an intersection nearby, according to KSDK News. The pickup truck, which had a bullet hole in its windshield, then crashed into the rig.
A witness said at least six shots were heard, and that two men fled from the pickup truck after the crash.
Police said the firefighters were not injured in the shooting or the crash.
