SEGUIN, Texas — A 23-year-old EMT was killed in an off-duty crash.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, KSAT reports. The Seguin Police Department said a Jeep Cherokee was traveling south on a highway when it for an unknown reason veered into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a Chrysler 300.
Both drivers were killed. One driver was identified as Natalie Gage-Avila, who worked as an EMT with Acadian Ambulance Texas.
“Natalie was a compassionate caregiver as an EMT and was working on becoming a paramedic. It is tragic when people who dedicate their lives to helping others are lost so young,” Acadian Ambulance Texas said in a statement.
