ARLINGTON, Va. — The National EMS Memorial Service and the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride have announced the dates for the next two years for the Weekend of Honor.
The 2025 event will run from July 18-20, and July 17-19 in 2026. All the events will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, according to a press release from the National EMS Memorial Service.
In July, the National EMS Memorial Service and the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride honored 36 fallen EMS and air medical providers from 18 states during the 2024 National EMS Weekend of Honor.
This year, the Moving Honors ambulance carrying the 2024 Tree of Life memorial began its journey in Seattle on July 5. Over 15 days, it traveled through at least 18 states, allowing those unable to attend the ceremony in person a chance to see the memorial.
“The Weekend of Honor just isn’t just about recognizing the EMS and air medical professionals who have paid the ultimate sacrifice,” National EMS Memorial Bike Ride President Lars Granholm said. “It is also about recognizing the dedication that those same individuals had towards their families, co-workers and friends and that their sacrifices will always be remembered.”
On July 19, the National EMS Memorial Service Honor Guard participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Four members — Hailey Slade, Shawn Stoermann, Debbie Cardozo, and Joe Rosamilia — were chosen for their dedication to honoring those who gave their lives in service.
The National EMS Memorial Bike Ride and the National EMS Memorial Service, volunteer-staffed organizations, organized the Weekend of Honor. They extend their gratitude to the volunteers, participants, donors, and sponsors who made this year’s remembrance celebration possible.
