Duty Death: Walker L. Hill - [Baton Rouge]

BATON ROUGE, La. — Captain Walker L. Hill, 48, died Saturday after suffering a medical emergency while on duty, the Baton Rouge Fire Department announced Sunday on Facebook.
He was immediately treated, then transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, the U.S. Fire Administration stated. A cerebrovascular accident is suspected.
Hill served with the department for his whole fire service career – starting Aug. 18. 1998. He was promoted to captain in 2017.
“Captain Hill leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come,” the department post read. “Captain Hill’s memory will live on in our hearts forever. Rest In Peace, Brother Hill; we have the watch from here.”
Hill’s funeral will be held on Thursday, according to the fire department.
