BRINKLEY, Ark. — A Southern Paramedic Service ambulance was involved in a crash Tuesday morning, killing EMT Elizabeth Watkins, 25, who was driving, the agency announced on Facebook.

The other EMT onboard, Jonathan Johnson, 27, was injured and transported to a Memphis hospital.

The crash happened while the ambulance was being moved from their station in Hazen to Brinkley and is being investigated.

Southern Paramedic Owner Gary Padget said, “We are of course all devastated by the tragic loss of Liz, and we are praying for the speedy recovery of Jonathan. We will continue to try and comfort the crew’s families as well as everyone in our employ.”
