FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A Wisconsin man who crashed his vehicle into a Fond du Lac Fire Rescue ambulance in 2020, killing one person and injuring four, pleaded no contest to a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, WBAY reported Friday.

David Worley, 30, avoided a jury trial that was set to begin on Monday. Sentencing is scheduled for July, and he could get 5 to 15 years in prison plus 10 years of extended supervision.

He was critically injured in the Sept. 15, 2020 crash that killed his passenger, Jonathan Bruemmer, 21.

The two EMS providers and their patient also were hurt, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigators said Worley ran a red light.
