BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — An EMT was arrested last week after being accused of kidnapping and carjacking a fellow Bridgeport EMT.
Bradley Doyle, 22, faces multiple charges, including robbery and unlawful restraint, News12 reported.
Doyle is accused of approaching the coworker, whom he dated briefly, and forcing her into her car at an AMR Bridgeport parking lot at 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 23. Both were off duty.
A witness reported what they saw to police.
The Connecticut Post reported that the assailant had a gun.
Connecticut State Troopers followed the vehicle on a high-speed chase through several towns and took Doyle into custody.
The other EMT was not injured.
AMR placed Doyle on unpaid leave.
“Following an initial investigation... an employee has been placed on unpaid administrative leave. Further internal investigation is pending... Our operations are fully cooperating with law-enforcement officials,” AMR said in a statement Friday. “AMR is committed to providing a safe work environment for all employees.”
An investigation is underway, AMR said.
Records show Doyle was also arrested in a 2019 burglary in which police said the victim was a relative of a woman Doyle previously dated, the Connecticut Post reported.
