A good EMS provider will do whatever it takes to provide good patient care – even if it means busting out some contortionist-style moves.

Archie McCorkell, a paramedic in Scotland, did just than when firefighters couldn’t access the home of a woman who fell because the door was bolted. A window cleaner spotted her lying on the floor in her home and called for help.

McCorkell saw another way in.

“I noticed that one of the wee hopper windows in the back was slightly ajar, so I said to the fire crew guys, ‘if you can get that window off, I’ll try to squeeze through,’” he said. “The space must have only been about eight inches deep, and when I had a look around the rest of the guys, it was obvious I was the only one who was going to have any chance of getting through.”

The woman was suffering from hypothermia, and was transported to a local hospital.
