VAN BUREN, N.Y. — Authorities outside Syracuse, N.Y., say a man who apparently committed suicide by staying in a car left running inside a garage ended up sickening six others at a condominium complex.
State police tell local media outlets that none of the residents of the Village Green condo complex in Van Buren appear to have life-threatening injuries. Six of them have been taken to hospitals with carbon monoxide poisoning.
Troopers say firefighters investigating the source of carbon monoxide in several connected homes called police after they found a man dead in a running vehicle in one of the garages around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the death is an apparent suicide.
