BETHANY, Mo. — Buchanan County EMS announced the death of its medical director, Dr. Scott Hall, in a fatal crash that happened on July 4.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Hall was pronounced dead at Harrison County Community Hospital after being in a single-vehicle accident involving a side-by-side utility vehicle, New Press NOW reported.

Hall was driving northbound when the vehicle went off the roadway and hit a rock before traveling off the roadway a second time, striking an embankment and overturning, KSHB reported.

Authorities said his wife, Maggie Hall and a one-year-old child were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to KQTV. Maggie Hall suffered minor injuries and the child suffered moderate injuries.

“He was not only our medical director but also the medical director of NTA Ambulance service as well as being the Chief of Emergency Medicine of Mosaic ER in Saint Joseph and Mosaic ER of Bethany,” the Buchanan County EMS Facebook page said in a statement.
