LAUREL, Md. — One person was killed and two EMS personnel were injured after a car crashed into an ambulance, WJLA reports.
It happened Sunday around 10:57 p.m. when a Hyundai Sonata struck the back of a Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services ambulance.
According to officials, the ambulance was parked with its rear yellow warning lights activated in the right turn lane when the car struck the back.
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, a 36-year-old man, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Two EMS personnel who were in the ambulance at the time of the crash were taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.
