TARENTUM, Pa. — A paramedic who worked for ambulance services in Freeport and Vandergrift is charged with stealing narcotics from ambulances in both communities.
Jonathan M. McCulley, 34, of Ballard Way in the Morningside section of Pittsburgh waived 18 charges to court last week involving alleged thefts from Freeport EMS.
He is facing nine theft and nine drug-related charges in that case.
According to a police affidavit, McCulley allegedly stole syringes pre-loaded with fentanyl, Valium and morphine.
State police said the prescription drugs belonged to Freeport EMS and Allegheny Health Network.
The thefts allegedly happened in March.
On May 16, McCulley waived his right to a hearing and the case was sent to Armstrong County court.
In the Vandergrift case, he is accused of stealing narcotic painkillers from C&S Ambulance. He faces four drug charges as well as single counts of theft, burglary and receiving stolen property.
A hearing on those charges is scheduled for July.
