LAKEVILLE, MN – ImageTrend, Inc. announced it has certified its Field Bridge mobile ePCR application for use on Microsoft Windows 7 based slate PCs. The new slate devices provide a new option for EMS providers to collect patient data in the field. Smaller and lighter than their ruggedized notebook counterparts, the slate tablets offer many mission-critical features for use in emergency services.
“Because these devices use Windows 7 and can store encrypted local databases, they allow security and administration controls to protect patient data privacy,” said Craig Rees, Product Evangelist at ImageTrend, Inc. “Although not ruggedized, they are thinner and lighter than a notebook PC and offer an attractive price point.”
The devices tested so far by ImageTrend offer true USB and Bluetooth connectivity as well as multiple input options. However, specifications may differ among manufacturers. Using a slate tablet like the ASUS Eee, an EMS provider can accept data from a 12-lead ECG, enter patient data using a USB keyboard, capture a signature with a stylus and update vital statistics with touchscreen controls.
