PRESS RELEASE
NEW YORK — First Due, the leading cloud-based emergency response and records management platform for EMS, has been chosen by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) as the statewide vendor for electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR). This partnership will enable seamless EMS data submission for Michigan agencies, making First Due the default statewide patient care reporting solution.
“We’re excited to partner with MDHHS to deliver agencies across the state our modern, cloud-native ePCR and EMS solutions,” said Andreas Huber, Co-Founder and CEO at First Due. “Agencies will now have the ability to run their entire operation end-to-end on one modern system – a massive upgrade from what they’ve been using.”
“Agencies will now have the ability to run their entire operation end-to-end on one modern system – a massive upgrade from what they’ve been using.”
The rollout begins in January 2025, aiming to transition Michigan EMS agencies to the First Due platform by year-end. This system replaces the state-managed reporting model, offering a flexible platform that centralizes compliance while decentralizing operational control. “By combining our-best in-class ePCR and flexible state compliance functionality, we enable providers to spend less time completing reports, better quality data for the state, and ultimately a higher level of care to patients in Michigan,” said Toby Ritt, VP of Sales at First Due.
First Due’s platform stands out for its ability to implement critical systemwide changes rapidly. Updates like schematron modifications can be deployed in minutes, enabling agencies to adapt quickly to evolving needs. “The State of Michigan selected the First Due platform for our office and the MCAs due to their exceptional commitment to understanding our unique needs and delivering a tailored solution,” said Emily Bergquist, Division of EMS and Systems of Care at MDHHS. “This capability is expected to enhance data quality and reduce data loss—two mission-critical priorities for MDHHS.”
In addition to its ePCR module, First Due is a market leader in delivering an AI-powered, unified platform that meets the diverse needs of agencies managing both Fire and EMS operations. The platform integrates advanced tools, including scheduling and personnel management, asset and inventory tracking, medication management, fire prevention workflows, and other mission-critical features. Enhanced by a robust data and analytics toolset, this comprehensive solution empowers agencies to focus on their mission with data-driven decision-making and seamless collaboration.
As First Due expands its reach, it remains committed to providing innovative tools that promote better service delivery, improve safety, and streamline operations for communities nationwide.
