BALTIMORE — Friends, family and fellow member of the Baltimore City Fire Department gathered Thursday to lay to rest a paramedic who died after collapsing at the fire house last week.
After finishing his shift and preparing to leave work on July 14, 23-year-old Nicholas Hemingway went into cardiac arrest, according to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department. He later died at Mount Sinai hospital.
Fire officials said he hadn’t been feeling well throughout the day.
