MediSafe unveiled a new mobile health app that works with Google’s recently announced Android Wear smartwatches to send reminders to take medications.

The MediSafe platform includes branded versions for hospitals and is able to connect with electronic medical and health records systems to remind patients when it’s time to take scheduled doses.

Users with an LG Android Wear, Samsung Gear Live or Moto 360 smartwatch can install the MediSafe app on their Android smartphone or tablet to begin receiving reminders on the smartwatch. Rotating the wrist from left to right, or swiping to the left on the reminder and taping confirms, that the medication has been taken.

The data is recorded in the MediSafe app on a smartphone or tablet, and the information can be shared securely by exporting and emailing.

The app can be downloaded for free through Google Play and iTunes.
