PRESS RELEASE
VAN WERT, Ohio — Braun Ambulances is geared up to display the ‘crown jewels’ of its premium ambulance line-up at FDIC 2024. As Braun’s most in-demand ambulance, the Braun Chief XL has earned its status as industry royalty with feature-rich customization and Braun-strong craftsmanship.
“At Braun, it’s our job to show you what is possible; that is why we are thrilled to return to Indianapolis to showcase a pair of Chief XLs crafted differently for two unique customers,” said Kris Turner, U.S. Channel Development Director. “With 50 strong years of rich history in the ambulance industry, our customers have come to rely on us to craft premium vehicles that meet their needs while having durability and strength woven into every design.”
Available in both Type I and Type III platforms, the Chief XL highlights what’s possible by allowing attendees to experience and compare the options and layouts selected by Brauns’ customers. The Chief XL offers ample workspace and significant storage as the second largest unit in the Braun lineup at 169″ in length with 72″ of headroom. The Chief XL has six chassis options for a Type I or Type III configuration with two or four-wheel drive.
This year’s display ambulance is a Chief XL Type I, presented courtesy of Corvallis Fire Department from Corvallis, Oregon, and is equipped with standard features such as SolidBody™ Construction and an EZ Glide™ Sliding Door. It includes several customizations designed to make the department’s job more efficient. Each exterior compartment includes adjustable shelving and sports all LED lighting for top visibility. Inside the ambulance, the walls have whiteboard material fastened, allowing EMTs to capture patient notes quickly and conveniently. Other features include an IV warmer, a back wall camera, a LiquidSpring Hydraulic Suspension, and a blackout package.
The second display features a Chief XL Type III with Braun standards such as a SolidBody™ Construction, an EZ Glide™ Sliding Door, Eberhard Free Floating Latches, and VitalMax™ Lighting System. It is crafted with an all-aluminum construction and fully welded in cabinetry. It includes a Braun graphics package and is equipped with a Stryker Power-LOAD system. This ambulance is displayed courtesy of Bloomfield Township Fire Department in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, through authorized dealer Kodiak Emergency Vehicles.
