WINTER PARK, Fla. — Wheeled Coach, a subsidiary of REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. and ambulance manufacturer, will showcase a range of its ambulances at FDIC 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana, this week.
“We are grateful to the U.S. Army and FDNY for allowing us to feature their Wheeled Coach ambulances at FDIC,” said Abel Del Rio, sales manager for Wheeled Coach. “Those vehicles, along with our demo truck showcase Wheeled Coach’s versatility and customization capabilities.”
The Wheeled Coach U.S. Army ambulance is built on a Ford F-450 4x4 chassis and features an AeroClave decontamination system, a CASPR UV air purification system, a secondary AC compressor, and a narcotics lock box. Additionally, the ambulance has a 12v/110v HVAC system with dual evaporator and a Cool Bar condenser system, and a blanket warmer. The patient compartment is 153 inches long x 98 inches wide with 72 inches of headroom, and it has an aluminum interior.
The FDNY ambulance is built on an F-550 4x4 extended cab chassis and has a modular body that is 150 inches long x 92 inches wide with 66 inches of headroom. The ambulance features an idle mitigation system with solar panels, and an energy-absorbing rear bumper and solid polypropylene rub rails. It also has a custom camera system to assist the driver, Klam brake retarder, Vista Brake Lock, and a HAAS Alert digital alerting system.
Wheeled Coach’s demo truck, which will also be on display, is a Ford E-450 Type 3 ambulance with a 170 x 95-inch wide x 72-inch high patient module. The cab area has a 10-inch cab extension for crew comfort, and the vehicle features a custom squad bench with dual storage cabinets and an additional control panel on the curbside. The truck’s countertops are solid surfaces for easy cleaning, and the HVAC system is center-mounted with UV Light and a Cool Bar.
