KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Kootenai County first responders are about to get 15 brand new ambulances.
Until now, paramedics like Phil Duzet worked on ambulance that were older and a bit unorganized. Each ambulance in their fleet had a different configuration. Medicine, gear and other equipment were often stored in different compartments depending on the ambulance. Duzet said all too often he had to search to find vital things as his patient depended on his fast response.
Kootenai EMS recently changed all of that to better serve their patients. They landed a deal that allowed them to purchase 15 new ambulances for cheap. Each ambulance is now identical.
