BROOKLYN — A tweet posted on June 4 by a freelance journalist during a protest in downtown Brooklyn captured video of an EMS provider on duty vocalizing her support of those marching.

The video by Scott Heins shows a black, female EMS provider leaning out the window of a SeniorCare EMS ambulance as it maneuvers through a stream of protestors holding signs displaying support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

“Black lives matter!” she can be heard saying. “Be safe; please be safe. Get home safe. Come out every day, do not let up. We are making change.”

The provider continues to encourage people to be cautious but remain determined.

“Say it together, ‘We ****ing matter,’” she continued. “Black lives matter! Black lives matter!”

In an email to EMS1, SeniorCare EMS CEO Michael Vatch said he ultimately supports the provider’s message.

“I wasn’t wild about the profanity she used while hanging out of a moving vehicle, but I sure endorse her heart and soul,” he said. “Black lives DO matter.”
