North American Rescue (NAR), a manufacturer of casualty-care products for defense and public-safety markets, is showcasing its latest blood warming, cooling and refrigeration solutions at the EMS World Expo in Las Vegas this week, including the Quantum Blood & Fluid Warming System, the Delta Ice Smart Blood Cooler, and the Autonomous Portable Refrigeration Unit (APRU).

  • The Quantum Blood & Fluid Warming System, developed by Life Warmer™, is a compact and lightweight device with a warm-up time of 24 seconds. It is designed for warming blood, blood products and IV solutions prior to administration for adult and pediatric patients. The system can be used in hospitals, clinical field settings and transport environments, providing a solution to prevent hypothermia in critical situations.
  • The Delta Ice 2L Smart Blood Cooler is built with a durable, rugged design. It features insulation to protect it from drops and punctures, a real-time internal temperature display, and Bluetooth and cellular connectivity. The cooler issues alerts in case of temperature excursions, ensuring that blood is stored at safe temperatures for optimal use.
  • The Autonomous Portable Refrigeration Unit (APRU), also known as “The Delta,” offers a transportable, waterproof, and dustproof solution for EMS professionals. It provides 95 hours of refrigeration on a single battery charge and stores internal temperature data to ensure that blood and blood products remain within the necessary temperature range during transport.

These solutions from North American Rescue are designed to support EMS professionals by preserving critical medical supplies in the most challenging environments. All products meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies standards for temperature storage.
