MINAS GERAIS, Brazil — It looks like the stuff of kids’ nightmares — but this is the mascot meant to cheer up youngsters recovering from burns in Brazil.
“Flamy” — or “Chaminha” as he’s called in Portuguese — tours burn units to meet youngsters who are receiving treatment.
The mascot has become the butt of a lot of jokes in Brazil for its scary-looking appearance, according to The Huffington Post, which bills it as one of the “most venue-inappropriate mascots of all time.”
