LE ROY, N.Y. — A $350,000 grant from the New York State Dormitory Authority has allowed the Le Roy Ambulance Service to purchase two new emergency vehicles at no cost to the organization.
As part of the upgrade, the service plans to replace its 2010 Chevy Suburban with a 2023 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor First Response Vehicle, commonly known as a “flycar,” The Daily News reported.
The department states on its website that the ALS response SUV will be in service Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to help cover their highest call volume periods.
The grant also covers the purchase of a new ambulance — an exact match to the Ambulance Service’s 2023 Chevy ambulance, which was funded entirely through local fundraising efforts.
