A woman that allegedly attacked Boston EMT Tony O’Brien last month has agreed to blood testing for contagious diseases.
Laura Bell, of Jacksonville, Florida was arraigned Thursday by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. MyFoxBoston reports that prosecutors say she attacked O’Brien, who was trying to help her.
In addition to the bite to his left hand, shown in the photos below, O’Brien suffered scratch wounds to his face and neck.
The blood test was requested by the assistant district attorney as a condition of the woman’s release. After the incident Bell refused a blood test at the hospital and O’Brien had to begin post-exposure preventative medical treatment. In addition, she is to share the results of the test with the EMT.
O’Brien and his partner, Sean Feeny, were attacked on December 10, 2014 after responding to a call for a female, slumped over with an unknown level of consciousness, in a hotel hallway. The alleged attack happened after O’Brien attempted to better assess her and asked her to stop using her phone.
