In this week’s Inside EMS quick clip, hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson explore myths spouted in EMS that make their way into mainstream culture.
Grayson started it off with a Facebook post about a patient who with mid-face trauma who wound up with a nasal endotracheal tube coiled up in his cranial vault.
“That’s a good one,” Cebollero said. “That’s the same video we’ve been watching since 1960.”
The risk is not zero, Grayson points out, but EMS must weigh the risk versus the benefits of certain treatments.
