CONCORD, N.C. — Police are searching for a man they say shot and killed his paramedic wife in a domestic dispute.

WBTV reported that MEDIC paramedic Rebekah Hart-O’Sullivan was killed in her home, and police said her husband, Patrick O’Sullivan, shot her and fled the scene.

“This tragic development has had a profound impact on MEDIC and its employees. On behalf of Rebekah’s co-workers, our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this time of solace,” Mecklenburg EMS Agency executive director Joe Penner said.

Police said they are unsure how O’Sullivan left the scene, and that he is currently wanted for first-degree murder.
