QUEENS, N.Y. — A 70-year-old pedestrian was found dead on the pavement near the site of a collision between an FDNY ambulance and a car in Queens on Wednesday.
Investigators don’t know if the man was hit by one of the vehicles, or if he suffered a heart attack after witnessing the crash at the intersection, according to the New York Daily News.
The two EMTs in the ambulance were transporting a patient when the crash occurred. Both EMS workers and the patient were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
