UTICA, N.Y. — The ambulance service for the Utica Fire Department ranks as one of the busiest in the nation, but Philadelphia’s Engine 25 Medic 8 ambulance service ranked at the top with 10,096 runs.
According to News Channel 2, officials with the Engine 25 Medic 8 in Philadelphia shared the ranking information via a Facebook post showing which states are the busiest in the nation for ambulance responses.
New York’s UFD ranked 12 with 5,887 ambulance runs, while Philadelphia topped the list with 10,096 runs.
“Unfortunately, we’re needed when other people are having a bad day. That number of runs - it’s bad for other people, but we’re able to get it done. We’re proud of our guys, certainly, for doing that many calls. Pretty impressive,” Assistant Fire Chief James Noon said.
