Paramedics find ‘rude’ note about ambulance parking location

East Midlands Ambulance Service said one of their paramedic crews was asked to “have some consideration” about where they park

LEICESTER, England — A paramedic crew was left “upset” by a note left on an ambulance complaining about where they parked.

BBC reported that the East Midlands Ambulance Service crew returned to their ambulance after an emergency response to find a note asking them to “have some consideration” about where they park.

“You blocked my driveway. I waited 45 minutes for you to move,” the note read. “Please have some consideration where you park the ambulance!”

The agency said notes like this are upsetting to the EMS crews and don’t actually solve anything.

“It is so disappointing to see that a rude note has yet again been left on one of our ambulances,” Ambulance Operations Manager Lee Brentnall said. “This upsets our dedicated ambulance crews when they are trying to help our patients and do their job.”

Brentnall recommended speaking to the EMS providers in person if they are concerned about where the ambulance is parked.

“If you genuinely need to leave your house urgently and we are blocking your access, please come and knock on the door where the emergency is taking place,” he said. “Sometimes we will be able to move the vehicle, for example if we are treating a patient but they do not need both of us there at the time. However, there will be times that we are treating someone experiencing a life-threatening and time-critical emergency and moving our ambulance will not be our priority. In these cases, you will need to be patient as we try to save someone’s life.”
