EDMOND, Okla. — The city of Edmond is switching to its new ambulance service next week to have improved response times.
American Medical Response (AMR) will replace Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) on Jan. 9, KOCO reported.
“That is the biggest benefit that we are going to see,” Deputy Chief Chris Denton with the Edmond Fire Department. said “We will see ambulances on scene much quicker.”
City officials told KOCO that the switch will mean there be more ambulance units available. At peak times of the day, AMR will have as many as five ambulances on standby throughout the city.
