LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida deputy is accused of going to eat lunch instead of responding to a 911 call that led to a woman’s death, according to WINK News.

Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott told the TV station that deputy Yvan Fernandez was dispatched to a 911 call and said he was on the way. Scott says that instead of responding to the call Fernandez ate lunch at a local restaurant, although his office is still working to determine if Fernandez was already at the restaurant when the call came in or if he stopped by afterward.

It was an hour before a deputy made it to the caller and by that point the woman was dead in her front yard covered in ants with her phone in one hand and her medication in the other.
