Job Description

The City of Bedford has immediate openings for firefighter/paramedic. In this fast paced position you will be responsible for front line fire suppression, vehicle rescue, emergency medical response, hazardous materials containment, arson investigation, urban search and rescue and fire/hazard prevention. Job Requirements

  • Age 19 years of age
  • Education High School Diploma or GED
  • Additional Requirement :
    - High school diploma or GED.
    - Have TCFP Basic Firefighter certificate and TDSHS Paramedic certificate upon appointment
    - Must have or be able to obtain class B CDL or CDL Exempt Texas Driver’s License.
    - Must be able to pass physical ability test.
    - Desired: Intermediate and/or Advanced Fire Certification
    - Must be able to acquire a precise knowledge of response district including streets and major block splits in the City of Bedford and Colleyville response area.
    - Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.
    -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
    - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Salary Information

Salary: $3761 per month
